In the presence of a goddess

Her singing was powerful. Effortless. Emotional. Something that must be experienced live. “The Wind That Shakes the Barley” brought the audience to its knees in worship. Not a dry eye in the theatre.

Oh yeah, and there was that Brendan guy, too. He was pretty good.

I went to see the doktor again this last Thursday for a post-op checkup. The news was very positive. Says that i’m healing fine, and that i should feel significantly better by Tuesday (which was nice to hear, as i’ve still felt essentially the same since i got home last weekend). He also said that i was cracking up the surgeon team in the OR with my apparent wittiness. Too bad i don’t remember any of that.

I was also able to get the full word on how big everything was in there. My tonsils were 3/4ths the size of a golf ball. Each. On top of that, my uvula was the size of a normal tonsil (which it shouldn’t be). How i managed like this for so long is utterly beyond me, to be honest. They wanted to take pictures for a case study, but the camera was taking too long to get to them, so they missed their opportunity. Ah well. My tonsils missed their opportunity to be immortalized for Science!

Its still too soon to tell how much of an affect this has had on my sleep apnea, but the doc says that this will help a lot. Eliminate the problem completely? Not sure- only time will tell on that. But i can already tell the difference. Still a lot of swelling, and i sound like i have a mouthful of cotton whenever i talk. Woot.
